Tractor
NH TC40 ......I hope
Want to buy my first tractor, is this a good value?

Should cover all my needs from what I've researched, but know nothing about NH. Any known problems with this model?
What about price?

03 New Holland TC40 4wd /synchroshuttle w/16LA FEL
Its an 03 with 375hrs

Includes
Wide loaded R4s
skid steer quick attach on the FEL
FOP canopy
6mnth drivetrain warranty

At $14,800 is it too good to pass . Looking at other new brands also

Your price on that tractor is around $5000 less than the new price. With only 375 hours and set up with the QA loader, it sure sounds like a solid buy. Be sure to check the radiator/battery area. That's a standard thing on any brand of tractor you buy. The current style of putting batteries in front of the radiators invites problems with battery leakage and corrosion.

Thats a pretty good buy. Just make sure you check all the fluids and the clutch engages good.

Thanks, I'm really having a hard time deciding between the price of the tc40 and spending 5k more on a new tractor that will give me clutchless operation and a full warranty.

I found a very small grinded spot on the metal dipstick in the rear Hydrolic fill. Dealer suggested it may have been attempt at marking the fluid range? Its on the side of the stick right at the fluid check level. moon shaped and about 1/2 long and just a mm or so deep.
Any opinion on what could have caused that, other than someone with a dremel or file?

I am calling the previous owner tonight to find out what the tractor was used for, if he marked the stick, and why he traded in on the same new tractor I've been considering.
