Been researching, visiting dealers, reading articles here and online. Big purchase for me so I wanna get it right. I’m looking for a compact with loader and grapple. I’m down to Kubota L3302, Massey 1835E or 1835M, or TYM 394.
In my mind, Massey is out front.
Massey dealer: 20 min from me
Kubota dealer: 30 min from me
TYM dealer: 90 min from me.
When you consider dealer support and parts availability, mf or Kubota lead. I actually like the TYM the best, but am hesitant because they don’t have the long history of reliability the others do. They have the best price and extra bells and whistles that I’d pay more for in the mf and not even an option on Kubota.
Massey zero percent interest and Kubota .99
Bottom line is Kubota would cost me $2500 more.
Not planning on selling, but you never know so will Massey retain value as well as Kubota? Wanted something slightly stronger than 25HP for 5’ rotary cutter.
Can I get y’all’s advice on these 3 brands and maybe help with my decision ?
Thanks

Price out of the way, the Massey 1835M is IMHO the best machine bar none on your list.

You will get the most bang for the buck with the TYM, but that is a long way to the dealer.

I like the Massey 1835m as well but if it is not too much more, jump to the 1840m. More PTO HP.

Kubota for me. I'm happy with my 1st Kubota tractor 2018 MX5200. My aunt has always run Kubota tractors on her ranch since 1976. Average 15 yrs of daily service before trading in. Very good value in both service and value retention. I bought a 4yr old garage kept slightly used tractor with 150 hrs because I'm a habitual bargain hunter and that saved me 10k with the extras included. If buying new I was sold on TYM after much research. Don't expect these off brands to hold their value like a Kubota.

I really really like the 1835M (almost bought one myself) and the Kubota Standard L series tractors are super reliable workhorses.

You can’t go wrong with ANY of those tractors. If you like the TYM the best, buy it! It’ll be a great tractor!

I run a five foot cutter behind my L2501 with zero issues and had none with the Mitsubishi D2350 before it. I avoided tractors above 25 hp due to concerns of issues with computers and particulate filters and such. Simple works best for me. I opted to pay more for the Kubota because I've had bad experience with the local LS dealer. The Yanmar I was shown was a smaller tractor. Good luck choosing, it can be confusing.

The 1835M is twice the tractor of a L3302. Weighs 1000lbs more, fully electronic HST, 500lbs more lift, pre-configured for multiple rear remotes, all Iseki made in Japan.

My dealer was 80 miles away. Haven't needed to go back yet.

Imho, with dealers it is as much what kind of people they are as it is network. If you have locals you trust who have purchased from those dealers, get some input from them.

A big problem with the expensive tractors/dealers is that the cost of ownership is high, too. Consumables and parts are more. Attachments are more...

We have a Kubota closest and a NH/Mahindra about 20 minutes further. They both carry some of the same makes of attachments, but the Kubota dealer wants 10-15% more for the exact same tool.

I keep hearing the other brands don't hold their value
like a kobuta but your paying approx $10K less and you
loose $7 or $8K who cares?????? The best part is your
paying approx $10K less and more standard options that
are extra on the kubota???

IMHO the person looking for a new tractor should test them all then narrow the list to a couple and then go on the net with: 2024 m5000 kobuta problems, 2024 yanmar
yt347 problems, 2024 tym 2960 problems etc this way
you will know what the problems are and usually you will
find out how to fix the problems because some problems
are an easy fix

Also check out the discounts and loan percentage also
get your loan price as low as you can even if you can make 4 or 5 times that price now.. just get the low and make the most you can pay on it now you never know
if something will happen and you can't make the big payment but you can handle the little payment with ease!
