Buying a used Yanmar in Ohio

I had to give it a try.
I followed the links to the equipment trader, called his phone number and played really dumb. Not too hard for me. I wanted to give the guy a chance to tell the real story about his equipment. I asked open-ended questions like "how old is it?" "What is Yanmar?" and "Where do you get parts?" Well, without any prompting he did in fact state to me that these tractors are NEW, made by John Deere and parts can be acquired by going to any John Deere dealer.
I think that this guy is a real gem. I have not talked to many people that will outright lie to you. I found it quite entertaining.

I think I'm going to be sick. This guy is the equivilent of the old used car salesman. I bet he came from that background somewhere. I notice he sells some other vehicles too. Man that's scary. It gives tractor salesmen a bad name, the problem is if the customer buys from this guy and goes somewhere else for parts what are they going to think when the dealer(J-D) says they can't get parts for them? All Yanmars will get a bad name. I wonder if he could be nailed (by the proper authorities) on the fact that ALL "NEW" tractors are to have seatbelts and ROPS? I sure don't see it on his!

Geezz this guy is pretty good but I think he should shoot for taking peoples money without giving them anything. Now that takes a real pro. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

This guy is probably selling these new Yanmars to the guys who buy americam pick-ups. They are so used to heads blowing and engines seizing and whole shebangs burning that a little oil leaking doesn't seem like anything in a new tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
