I am planning to buy the bx22 that is listed in the classifieds. Here are my questions. I posted and saw that from the other forum I need at least a 6x12 dual axle trailer. I have access to a truck set up for trailer brakes but no trailer. Is there a company that rents such trailers?? Also does this tractor not have a title?? The previous owner said he does not think that there is a title associated with this machine.

Thanks
Niles

Most rental companies rent 6x12 trailers U-Haul ECT.
There may be some states that issue titles for tractors but i do not know of any. Usally only vehicles that will licensed have titles.

I could have gotten a title in PA, but there are reasons not to. My dealer told me it was possible, but he almost never does it.

I did get a Cirtificate or Origin for my B2910 Kubota, and think I also did for my BX2200. I'm going to have to check, now that I think of it...I might have forgotten to ask for it on the bx... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I am pretty sure the cirtificate of origin is submitted when a vehicle is titled.

If you title the tractor it becomes a motor vehicle, and this can cause problems I understand. Like it may not be covered by homeowner's insurance, since it is an official vehicle. Or so they tell me... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The only thing that tractors come with is a few gallons of fuel and a bill of sale from the selling dealer. I asked is there was a Certificate of Origin from Kubota, and the dealer told me that all they get from Kubota is the invoice showing the serial number. All I get from him is the bill of sale showing the serial number. I found this strange, but upon checking with Kubota, they told me that is the way it is in tractor land. Even my little trailer from Walmart came with a certificate of origin so I could get plates for it. The different states have different regulations on titles... MA insists on issuing a title for everything that has plates on it. At $50 per title, you know the reason. CT doesn't have titles on any motorized vehicle if it is older than 10 years and trailers don't have titles until they get to a certain GVW. Some states will not give you a replacement title for a vehicle over 10 years old... I ran into this problem when I sold a 1969 Corvair that originally had a NJ title and the title was lost. With every state being different, it is a paper work nightmare! Titles on tractors would just add to the confusion.. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mass wants titles for $$$$. You also will have to pay the "out of state tax". You will also have to pay excise tax every year if you have a plate on it. It goes on and on. Unless you have a farm business owner why go through and reg it?

Next thing they will need the yearly $29 inspection sticker on it for saftey and emissons!

Junkman,

I can assure you that this is not the case. I am holding the "Cirtificate of Origin for a Vehicle" for my B2910 right now. This is the one I got from my dealer when I bought my B2910 Kubota in 2002.

It is an official document, and looks a lot like a car title does. It lists the transfer of the tractor from Kubota Tractor Corportation to the Dealer. It is signed by a representative of Kubota Tractor Corporation, in Torrance California, 90503. The Kubota agents' name is Charles L. Carson.

Either your dealer misinformed you or he just doesn't know... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Anyway, they do exist. The proof is that I have one in my hand... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
