Hi everyone...I'm new to this board.I have just ordered a new DK65 from a dealer here in Ontario, which is only 3 miles away from me.I've known him for years and have bought parts from him, allthough never a tractor.

I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me about the new 3 cyl.Perkins engine.Whether I can expect to receive a exact rated engine horesepower of 64 or do they come a little higher than that.I had read somewhere that sometimes they can come in higher.I'm wondering as well about fuel consumption.I'd appreciate any comment on this. Thanks

Good choice with the DK65.

Some engines are a little lazy till broken in,others outpreform from the begining, others are right on the mark from start to finish. In these days of Tier pollution laws you never know, but I've heard of quite a few utlity sized up engines outperforming the norm.

Where abouts in Ontario are you?

I'm from Harrow, Ontario...about 30 miles south of Detroit Michigan on the Canadian side..E.R.Vollans is the dealer in my area.Jim has sold Massey,Landini,Valmet and Kioti...We are diversified in our area with general grain crops, vegetables, grapes and a lot of greenhouses in the Leamington area about 10 miles from his place. He's got lots of inventory for parts and supplies for the Pikrite tomato harvesters.
Thanks for the info on the 65,I'm looking forward in getting it in a few days.

I have got my tractor and it looks real good...the cab is very spacious condidering the overall size.It runs well and the engine is quiet.

I have noticed it does not have a speedometer...not that I need one on the road, but for planting speed.I find that unusual...I guess I took it for granted because the John Deere's and Case tractors have them...Maybe it's there and I can't see it...just got it this afternoon...Maybe the company thinks most of these are built for loaders and don't think we need them.

When you have the time keep us posted on how you like your new 65. I don't think there are many 65 owners who visit this site so it will be interesting to hear your impressions on the biggest of the Kiotis. Good luck with it.

The only options I got were the Ag tires and the brush guard on the front of the grill. It's got two knobs where you pull out about a half inch and the the guard swivells down and then you can lift the hood up nice...lots of easy access to the battery and engine.

I really like the guard because it's kind of neat...well built and only around a $150. I'd reccomend that on other models as well.

That design is available on all the older DK's & the new 45S & 65S.
