Hey First time buyer/user have 3.6 acres of flat land, some sheep etc.
So this is the agreement:

jinma 284 LE
loader
jinma jw103 backhoe attch. frame moun.
box scraper w/rippers 5'
posthole digger w/ 9", 12" auger
5' rotary mower

All for only 16,101.25

dealer is about 1.5 hours drive, says I need to bring back for service/repair??

I guess i'm not liking chinese made but what is'nt!!! any feed back would be great. I'm in Sonoma County in California....

Other dealers says will break soon and can't get parts/service.
Shavings in the oils, need to drain all and clean, replace???

Thanks

Even the best constructed and maintained machines break. Yes, you will need to replace all the fluids that came in it from china. Consider them breakin fluids and get some good domestic oils in there. Dosn't sound like too bad a deal with all those impliments. The buyers of these things are usually the do-it-yourself types, since the dealer network is a little thinner spread than some of the other brands. 1 1/2 hours is a bit to haul it if you can't do your own maintenence and basic repairs, but certainly not too far if you have a major warranty issue. There are plenty of parts available online, particularly for that model as it is one of the more common. Spend a while reading this forum from the beginning, then look over the other forums here for other makes. They ALL have their problems, but it is up to you to determine how comfortable you feel with your own abilities and your available local and dealer support. These machines are about as simple as a tractor gets, so if you are not adverse to turning you own wrenches, they are a good machine to learn as you go. This forum, the CTOA forum and John's jinma website are excellent resources to learn about them and to troubleshoot if you have problems. I have had a 284 for about 18 months and I love it. It is a real brute for it's size. Since it weighs more than most other makes of equal horsepower, it has a greater traction force than those other tractors. I am also not a rich man and this tractor and ALL the impliments I procured initially(loader, 5' brushhog and post hole digger) came to slightly less then HALF the cost of a similar sized tractor alone that I could have gotten locally. For me it was the only real option finantially if I was going to have a tractor of this size. You might also look at other smaller sizes. I have 7.5 acres and the 284 I got was almost overkill. You might be able to save a little more with a smaller machine for your 3.6 acres.

Good Luck

Agreed. I think $16K is a bit steep anyway, especially with no mention of a trailer. Does it have an EPA-approved engine? If no, it's old stock. If yes, it's not 28hp anyway. Might have a 284 decal, but the EPA engine is ~25hp

Parts are going to be here ,there are several large suppliers including us
for parts with more and more shops doing service since they know they can get parts. We sell parts to several JD,NH dealers that are working on Jinmas now also.If you are mechanical at all these tractors are very easy to repair. Shop the pricing a little you may be able to buy better and pay for the shipping with the savings

Cardis,

I own a Jinma 304 and 5 acres. It is a great machine for what I need it for. The only problem I had out ot it was the fuel switch was causing the tractor to shut off like it was out of fuel. Other than that great machine for the money. This forum is a great place if you need assistance trouble shooting.
