Buyers Market?

Good advice Dr Zinj! I did a search, and the dealership has been mentioned many times... In any event I got a brand new hydrostatic 4wd 47hp LS tractor with a kick butt FEL for $21,700, and the exact same setup at NH for essentially the same tractor was $27K (that included the free FEL promo)...

Can you say tickled pink!

Redlevel,
I was in the exact same position as you looking for a 40-50hp tractor. I am not attached to any color paint like green, blue, or orange so I figured I would look at all of them. I spent 6 months looking at POS used tractors, and started to get frustrated, so I decided to go new. Long story short is that based on my needs and the amount I wanted to spend I decided on a NH Boomer 50, and then a buddy said I should just buy from LS tractor directly and save some cash. Holy S***, what a great piece of advice that was!!! Turns out that the Boomer 50 and LS 4047 are near twins except for a few cosmetics... And as a bonus the LS comes with 2 remotes and a universal mounting bracket on the FEL. The NH dealer near me has a free loader program going on if you don't use 0% interest, but even with that it was almost $5,000 more than the LS.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents on my journey, based on my needs and bank roll.

Yep. That's why I bought new.

How do you buy directly from LS? Can you call for a price? Won't they just send you to a dealer?

You can go to www.lstractor.com and use the dealer locator. I used www.rcotractor.com. They can only list package prices, so all the LS units include a box blade and a rotary cutter appropriate for the engine/tractor size. That said, you will get an idea of how good the prices are!

Oh... Ok thanks! I guess I misunderstood. I thought you could buy directly from the manufacturer. I did find a dealer in my state but the prices are not listed. :(

New Holland sells the LS tractor under the Boomer name. NH Boomer 40 is a LS R4041, NH Boomer 50 is a LS R4047.

RCO has prices listed on their inventory, but all of the prices include a FEL, Box blade, and a rotary cutter.

I would have to agree that LS is about the best deal out there right now. My closest dealer quoted me $16,900 on an R4041 w/FEL and $19,400 on an R4047 w/FEL.
