Busy month of May

Spring has broke in the north country;May has been very busy.Gardens to work up,ten acres of food plots(almost done),we did a 125 bird Chukar hunt May 19 on the preserve for the local dog club.I just hatched 225 pheasant with 1100 eggs in incubators at the moment.Of course still have to take care of 150 or so adult breeder birds.Got on to a bit of a flower kick and built a three elevation flower bed.Revamped my trellis near the driveway and
planted some climbing plants to go with the ivy and grapes.The gardens still have to be planted and the new stawberry patch and fence done.So far 33 hours on the tractor working ground,not quite done yet.Wet and cold(50 F) next couple of days.

You did have a busy month of May!

That's a lot of pheasant eggs, do they all come from the breeder birds?

Yes I have my own breeders..getting about 120 eggs per day.Too many for my use,I try to sell eggs local if I can but not many takers this year.I think the price of feed has people scared.We did put 100 Bobwhite quail eggs in the hatchers also.Big demand for Quail for training pointing dogs.We also have a few Chukars but are a little young for eggs this year.
Good thing this is a "retirement hobby" and not trying to make a living.
