Bushy\'s 110 is back!

I've been off digging in the dirt. Hope to continue the discussion and compare notes though it has been a while.

No major problems with the 110. Got a set of pallet fork this summer don't know how I lived without them.

All the enteries I posted since the start some time around Feb 02, how do I get back to them? I forgot how, where, when. Can anyone help me. It is important as I noted hours and problems and concerns I had with the 110. Would like to refresh the dealers memory. Bushy

Bushy,

Click on you own screen name and you will see your own profile. On the bottom right of the screen, you will see a link that says something like "Show all user's posts" Click on that and you will see a chronolgy of your posts going back.....well, forever. You could also just do a search with your user name.

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

110 owners; Anyone having trouble with the 110's seat freezing up to the point that the safty switch in the seat does not allow the tractor to move. The seat must be collecting water and freezing. It is a bit frusrating to need to move the tractor and it will not. Spoke to the dealer about it today he did'nt have any suggestions. Bushy

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

If your the only one to drive it, you could consider bypassing it. I have considered a special bypass switch near the key for seat and clutch bypasses in a momentary configuration to allow me to start or move the tractor without having to be on it. It is not advisable to do this except for yourself and even then I'm sure there will be plenty of folks thinking some of us nuts for even considering it. As much as some of the safety stuff is sometimes obnoxious, I won't allow myself to let others to use my stuff without it in working order. Glad to hear the 110's doing well. It looks like a great setup. Tags seems pretty pleased with his as well.

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Ha Rat: I'm looking at a work site pro pa 30 hydraulic auger that fits on the backhoe boom. Looks like it would be a useful tool. I would like to get a price from someone out there for comparison. The dealer here wants $2300. At that price it includes the interface adapter that fit the quickattach systum on the hoe. Has any one priced a pa 30. Thanks bushy.

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Bushy,
Good to hear that you and your 110 are well. As for the seat freezing issue, before I put my warm and cozy cab on /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif my seat would freeze, it was a bit hard and cold on the old rumpus, but I disconnected my seat switch the first day I had the machine because when you bounced on the seat it would stop the machine. I just unplugged the switch and jumpped it with a small piece of wire so, like Rat suggested, it can be hooked up in a pinch. My 110 is runnin like a top, no problems to report just lots of snow to move!

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Tags: Good to hear from you. Give my regards to your cab. I see that you have the rig for sale. If I didn't have one my self I'd be over to buy it myself. It seems to be priced well.

I have considered jumping the switch though that is not how JD built the thing to be used. JD needs to take a look at that. Especially since a cab was not an option at the time. And the the price you/I paid well the seat should not be an issue.

The other issue is the mate that it was shipped with was cracked from the get go. Well, the dealer last told me that he thought the mate had been thrown out. Well get another one.

One problem I have that I will shoulder is that I do not trust them with the tractor. I do not think that they understand the thing yet at the local level. This attitude has developed since the begin. It seemed that nothing was known about the tractor. Because it was a new produce ,I guess. An employee of the dealer stopped one day to view my concerns and one of the question he lead with was is this a hydrostatic? I want the most knowledgable person coming out. Then they always want to take the thing to their shop. What ever happened to the house call. Every time a farmer has a problem with a baler or such do they bring it back to the shop? I don't want others learning on my investment. I thought the company backing of the product was with well trained personnel, from the saleperson to the delivery person. Don't get this twisted. The staff treats me well. Though it seem that there is a lack of information. I guess I want them to be on top of the 110. So what's in your wallet, bring something to the table. I paid. How about a new seat. Waterproof. I can come up with hairdryer, heatlamp, unplug.

Do you want to sell your four in one bucket or one of the backhoe buckets. I'd like your cab but it seems that I've got to much in to this judging from what you have and the price you are selling it for. That is a great price for some one to get into a great machine. Bushy

Tags are you selling the 110? Is there something you disliked about it that would make you sell it? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Just wondering

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Johnno,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 110, it is a fantastic machine that works great. Early this spring I had an opportunity to purchase a Yanmar mini excavator at a price I could not pass up. Since buying it I haven't used the hoe on the 110 at all, not to say the hoe isn't good, it's just not as efficient as an excavator, I primarilly use the 110 to power my Harley rake and for moving material around. Plus I have gotten away from more "landscaping" work, which the 110 is perfect for, and have been doing more site work. I feel that a rubber tracked skid steer would fit my business a little better, as well as be more efficent at working slopes, grading, moving material, working when it's wet, and Harley raking tough to reach spots. If I don't sell it though I'll happily keep using it till I do.

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Bushy,
Unfortunately, I really don't want to separate any of the buckets right now, because if I have the machine for a while longer I don't think I could do without the 4n1. Never had one before and never thought they were so useful til I got this one, I wouldn't have a machine without one now! The seat thing is very annoying indeed, and the fact that your dealer isn't to up on the 110 isn't that great either, but in time they will get better, but I understand your frustration now. I do have to say though, if you do use your machine year round the cab definitely is the way to go. I know it seems pricey but I got mine out of Canada and installed it myself, which in the end saved me about 2500 bucks. If you want the info of where I got it just let me know and I'll get it out to you.

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Tags hope I didn't blow the spot up to badly.

Just though we could talk it up a bit.

The cab sounds nice though I don't see it as some thing that would make money. How is it in the summer months. I've been working a lot it seems in the rain. I would like to find some front fenders for the 110 as when I travel down the road water and sand is thrown on the operator and station. Fenders would be nice.
I'm thinking of fixing a piece of plex glass on the front rops kind of a poorman's cab. Bushy

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Tags, I'm pretty much in the same camp as you regarding hoes and excavators. Out here the mini excavators are increasing in numbers all the time. After seeing just how effective they are, it pretty much convinced me that for my needs, getting a hoe for my Kubota L48 was not going to happen. The new L3830 I now have works swell with the Harley Pro 8 as long as the loader is on, it lifts the front end off the ground with no loader. The thought of adding a hoe to my L3830 just does not interest me even though on a few occasions it would be quite handy. I have been able to hire out my hoe work to a buddy with a CAT 426 with 23 feet of reach, that pretty much takes care of most of my needs. Throwing on the box scraper, mower or Harley is enough work. The HST on my L3830 works so well with my HST, it's really a superb fit. I would eventually like to replace the horizontal bar roller with the toothed roller like yours. Truely an awesome setup. Rowski showed some pictures of his T-8 in action. Rat...

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Tags here are some questions for you to field!

Do you have any difficulty switching the 110 out of four wheel drive? I do, it does not work consistantly. No problem getting it to go on.
Have you noticed any cracks in your front tires at the base of the tread? I have.
How much air are you running in the rear tires? Thanks Bushy

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Rat,
I checked out the new Botas a while back when you said you were thinking of buying one, man did they do a great job upgrading them or what?! The higher capacity loaders and the overall new design just make them that more appealing. From what I've read, you're really diggin' yours alot, thats great, sounds like it does all you want it to. Once again I have to agree, the HST is the ONLY way to go, so darn efficient. Anyway good to hear from ya, hope all is well and warm in the west!

Re: Bushy\'s 110 is back!

Bushy,
The cab may not make you money but it gives you the ability to go out in bad weather, when other wise you may not want to, be comfortable, dry, warm, and go work the machine thus making money /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. It is hard to justify the money but once it is on and the wind driven snow is bouncing off the windows instead of you face, it makes you appreciate it that much more, believe me it more than paid for itself this last storm here. As far as the summer months, I removed the two doors , open the side windows, and turn the blower on (with the heat off of course) just to mve the air and it was 100 times better than I thought it would be. The four wheel drive, I have found that if you slightly move the machine forwards or back it relieves pressure off the front axle and allows you to easily remove it from four wheel. I haven't noticed any cracks, but I haven't looked either, I'll take a look tomorrow and let you know. Whatever the book says for pressure is what I run, I'm not much help here. The plexiglass may work pretty well, but over time will get too scratched to see through and you'll denfinitely wish you had a wiper. I also think that Curtis may have come out with a cab now to, it may be worth looking into. Hope all my jabbering helps.
