Forgive my ignorance, how do you check for the shearpin?

The PTO shaft from the tractor to the cutter is attached to the input shaft of the gear box. If the PTO shaft turns and the input shaft of the gear box isn't turning, then you've got a sheared shear pin.

OK, found the problem, The unit I have has a slip clutch and it was WAY TOO LOOSE, i could see air between the plates. i tightened everything up and she runs like a champ. Thanks for all the input and advice.
