Hello everyone! Yesterday I said my new 4530 will be delivered Friday. I also said that I'd probably have some "how-to" questions seeing as I've never had a FEL before. My 4530 has the skid steer option for quick removal. As stupid as it seems, here is my question. After delivery, I have 15 acres to bush hog. Do most of you bush hog with the loader bucket on or off? Thanks in advance for any input!

I leave the bucket on. Keep it kind low, it warns sometimes of upcomming obstacles. :D

I don't like doing any mowing work with a bucket really, makes it more difficult to see, manouver etc IMO.

But if there is rubbish in the field it is worth leaving it low.

If not just take the bucket off, stick the loader where it is most out of the way and go :)

I've had the loader off my 5005 exactly twice. Once just to see how it was done and another time to save the labor of removing it when I took it to the dealer for work.

Thanks for replies. From what I'm gathering from the replies, I'll leave it on and see how that goes.:)

If I have mowed the area before, then I will remove the loader. Lots easier IMO. But if mowing unfamiliar ground, then I mow with the rear of the bucket a few inches above the ground with the front lip curled up some. Bucket doesn't dig into anything, yet still knocks stuff down.

I'm the same way. Only time i leave it on is if I think it might stop me from running over something I don't want to.

So you remove just your bucket and keep your loader arms in what position?
