Tractor Sizing Bush hog size....

I have a chance to buy a 5' for my F20. I might go ahead and then try and find a used 4' to trade even.

I'm using a YMG2000D, which is the 20hp at PTO 3cyl in a YM1700 chasis. It handles my 4' cutter with no issues what so ever. I've even cut through an acre of 1.5" sapplings without strain.

If I found a bargain deal on a 5'er, I would jump on it. Like you said, if there is ever issue (which would only happen in the more demanding jobs) you could trade it. However, if buying new, I'd stick with 4'.

I myself am just getting my feet wet here also. Just bought a BRAND NEW BUSH HOG for my fianceees Satoh S650G tractor and I went by PTO ratings. Her tractor has a 22 HP PTO rating so I went with the SQueeler Bush Hog rated for it. This Bush Hog kicks butt,,LOVEEEEEE ITTTTTT
