Not really sure what they are called, but the metal deflectors or baffles located underneath the finishing mower, are they needed for proper cutting? I have knocked the one in the center off and was wondering if it needs to be replaced. Also my right blade doesn't cut as well as the other 2 in slightly higher grass. New belt and new blades. Thanks

They are designed for air flow and blade suction to lift grass straight up to cut.

I have a welder friend if I can find the part or material. I cannot find it listed in any parts diagram. Thanks

You would need to fabricate the replacement.

Much of the time, the bottom of a deck is so matted and clumped with grass, that I'm guessing, the EXACT dimensions of the baffle is not that critical.
