Bush Hog 286 parts

Hey all, I am looking for a used blade pan (stump jumper) for a Bush Hog 286. I recently bought a used cutter and have since discovered the gears inside the hub of the blade pan are wore down to 1/4" in length and mushroomed over so that they won't engage the splines on the spindle. It looks like the Castle nut lost its retainer pin and allowed the blade pan to drop and chew away at the hub gears (thank you previous owner). The equipment dealer has washed his hands of it so now I need to find a new stump jumper. New from Bush Hog they are 450 + shipping + tax. If anyone knows of a used one in good shape between Buffalo, NY and Albany, NY please let me know.

I'm not sure about your area, but I have good luck at scrap metal yards finding parts around here. When someone brings in a old implement (a bush hog for instance) the guys set it aside for just these reasons. Instead of melting it down as scrap they part it out or sell the whole thing, and make a lot more money.
