i just got a used 4' foot bush hog to go no my 2305. am having trouble with it.how do i keep it from tearing up the ground. i know it has to set on the ground when pulling it. can any one help me with this. thanks

Only the tailwheel should be on the ground.

No, it shouldn't set on the ground. Those sideskirts should be 2-3 inches off the ground during operation...may just a tad higher. If your rockshaft lever (controls the 3PH) has a stop to set the height, use it.
The front end of the cutter should be an inch or so lower then the rear. You may have to adjust the tailwheel height to get everything set.
If the field is pretty uneven, the cutter may dig in now and then...but it shouldn't be a continuous thing.
I assume you bought the cutter used. If the manufacturer has a web site, you may be able to download a manual from the site.

Often there are two sets of holes that the pins (for the side draft links) bolt onto the implement. If your cutter has extra holes, you might need to change move them to the other set of holes. The tail wheel might need to be adjusted some too, to help set the overall attitude (angle) of the mower deck so it will be sitting fairly level (but 2-3 inches above the ground like Roy mentioned).

Sometimes, even with the mower deck adjusted correctly, one of the front corners will still dig in when you make sharp turns. There's not too much you can about that.
