Have a new WM 60.

After driving 1/2 mile from my land to my house, I can smell something like plastic burning.

On pavement, NOT in 4WD, in high, 4th gear.

Any thoughts?

Your description wasn't very helpful. Any strange noises? Wheel rubbing a fender? Belt rubbing something?

That's just it. No strange noises, and I can find no signs of where it's coming from. I've been over it with a fine tooth comb. Even under the hood.

If its new, its just burning off paint and stuff from the muffler, engine, exhaust. It happens all the time here at the dealer when we test new tractors. More often than not they are smoking from under the hood after we run them a little.

I agree with Showroom the first hot supper is starting to burn off paint & oils.
In 4th gear there was some load on it and the exhaust temps were up.
This happened on my 1990 Dodge Cummins. I had it for weeks with no burning smells then I hooked up to a trailer and the first hot supper burned the paint off the exhaust manifold. Thought I had a fire.
Diesels don't make real heat until they are worked!

Figured it was just the new wearing off. Regen light didn't pop on (I'd be concerned if it did so soon), and the paint from the manifold/exhaust is long gone.

Never had a NEW tractor before so I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks for putting me at ease!

Yahtzee!!!! I remember the first time I hauled butt down the road at full throttle my Kubota did the same thing.
