I bought a Deutz-Allis 5215 today nice little tractor, anybody know where I get an operators manual for it
Magnum,
I believe, but I'm just not positive about this . . .
. . . the 2WD version of that tractor was based on the Hinomoto C-172. The 4WD version was the Hinomoto C-174. While Allis-Chalmers was trying to figure out who it was, this basic tractor was sold under the Allis-Chalmers name as the 5015. It was sold by Simplicity as the 9518. And, somewhere with the name changes, they painted it green and changed the hood and grill. They called it a 5215. Then AGCO came along.
But, you should be able to find a manual that will get you started by going to this website:
Simplicity - Lawn Tractors
When it asks for the Manufacturing Number, type in this number: 2097355
That will take you to a page where you will then be able to download (for free) the Operator's Manual and the Parts Manual for the Hinomoto C-174. The manuals will be listed as Allis-Chalmers 5015 / Simplicity 9518.
Massey-Furguson sold similar Hinomoto models, like the MF1010 an 1020, but none were identical. However, many of the parts are the same -- like filters, gaskets, o-rings, ignition keys, glow plugs, etc.
You should be able to get parts for the 5215 from an AGCO or Massey dealer.
Good luck,
Knute
