Building an outdoor dog kennel

The box store pricing is such that it's difficult to save anything by buying the chain link pieces and putting them together in my experience. Maybe commercial fencing operations can get the materials at better prices or maybe some used materials can be had, but I wasn't able to find much savings going the piece route--and all I did was repair a kennel and add a simple roof.

I do appreciate that chain link may not be the best looking material in some neighborhoods, but it is certainly practical for dog kennels. Maybe a little landscaping would help dress it up.

I know this thread is a few months old, but had to comment. Please search craigslist or local classifieds. I just scored a 10'x20x4' with divider in the middle and gate for each side for $100. I know I could have done better aesthetically, but for that kind of money it was a good buy even if temporary.

There are usually 5-6 available like that at any given time.
