building a stone fire pit

Here is my fire ring. I used concrete blocks that I had on hand. They are starting to crack, but have been in service for a couple of years and seen many a fire. I would love to have a stone pit but rock is sorta hard to come by in South louisiana Nothing like relaxing around a crackling fire under a star filled sky and listening to the coyotes howl off in the distance...

The second picture shows the ring after an extremely rare overnite snowfall in La. The snow didn't last till noon.

Actually thats my three sided grilling fireplace ! And if someone takes a dump in there I will be very upset !

Nice Pics ! Hey you guys arent supposed to have any white stuff down that way !

BTW the coyotes in the distance, especially up in the mountains are the best on a star filled night !
