Building a stick frame house in the woods in 90 days

They came to pick up the dumpster, but the truck driver said he could not pick it up because the column was in the way. Something about snapping his cable if he tried?
I got my tractor and gave it a shot from just past where the lawn was seeded with a 100 ft chain. No dice. I even had the front wheels on the road, trying to find grip. I had the chipper on the back, and loader forks on the front, so about 14,000 lbs in 4 wheel drive with a locked rear diff.
I was only able to move the dumpster 2" or so. Will have to try again once the ground dries up some.
I might try using the a bar across the 3 point to lift while pulling forward, get the front end of the dumpster off the ground and pivot on the back...

That's my plan exactly. I just edited my post, so you might not have read the part about me picking up a cat2 drawbar tomorrow. Been on my todo list for a while, but now I got an excuse to get it done.

Btw, he did drop of another dumpster for all the remaining trash. So nothing is being held up fortunately, but I do like this new challenge. :D

Peter is the basement still damp or is that just the way the photo looks? I may have missed some sort of stain treatment that makes it look that way from here. Great build, thanks for sharing.

Mark:

That, believe it or not is just how shiney the concrete subs finished it to. The garage looks the same. The guys that did that are really, really good, unlike some others that have worked on this house.

Dave, that is a fascinating reason. I had no idea. I suppose kitchen's were pretty standard in size back then. Interesting note: People were/are taking cabinets and even plumbing fixtures and copper pipes with them even in today's market because of the recession and foreclosures.

I see they are still at it. Check out these classified ads for "kueche" (kitchen sets): Kueche Küche - neu und gebraucht kaufen und verkaufen

Peter, that looks like a pretty good sized yard (and it looks great, too). Your Mom is gonna be mowing before she knows it...;)

Might be a fun challenge, but...
You might be ahead to let the dumpster company call a wrecker to walk the dumpster over. With multiple cables and a boom
they can move some amazing weight.
No potential expensive damage to your equipment or liability for the dumpster.

Peter, Peter, Peter:

You know the old you, Stunt, would already have this done come **** or highwater. I suppose we all get older and more risk adverse. Dunno why they can't pick up a dumpster that they already left without you having to move it. Any chance you can grab it with your massive grapple to move it?

Peter,
Is the door to the master bedroom still hinged to swing as shown on the drawing?

If it is still swinging out, it seems to me that it would be much better if it were hinged on the other side to swing back against the wall that joins the mini hall to the guest bathroom.

Where it is now requires opening 180 deg to get it out of the way. On the other side it is completely out of the way with just a 90 deg swing.
That could become important if a walker or wheelchair is needed later.
