I have a Bush Hog fel with a heavy duty bucket. I would like to make a toothbar but have been unable to find shanks that fit the edge of the bucket. It has a welded on cuting edge with a 10 degree cutting edge angle . I cannot find a shank with less than 20 degree angles on the cutting edge. Does anyone know who manufactures shanks that will fit the bucket. I have Fabco's book and have sent drawings to a couple of places but no luck. Who makes them for bush Hog. Went to John Deere dealer yesterday but no luck. Any help appreciated
Thanks

I have the same problem with JD3130 loader bucket. I going to try making my own. I picked the teeth from JD. I have made me a wooden pattern of what the shank needs to be.
My holdup is the 1 1/8" material. I make weekly trips to the scrap yard, I'm not in a rush, but if I don't find anything in a few weeks I just breakdown and buy new peice.
I'll post some pics when I get going.

Try Ebay, gobs of bucket teeth I think from fabco, lots of sizes and styles. I got 9 for my 72" bucket for $90 on Ebay and picked up some 3/8"x2" flat bar along with a couple 4"x6"x3/8" plates locally. Total cost for a bomb proof tooth bar was about $125 with paint, two bolts, and a couple good hours in the shop. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I made a drawing and sent it to Fabco and they don't have anything. The John Deere Dealer has nothing and spent a considerable amount of time trying to locate some as JD makes a bucket with the same cutting edge so i don't know what to do now. The ones on E-Bay won't work and from their configuration I don't think i can cut and fit and make them work. will try Case and Cat next week. Thanks for the replies and Iwill post some photos when I go back to the farm which is 100 miles away from my home. Boats123

Have you thought about cutting sloped notches in the bar? If your bucket has a 10 degree edge, and your teeth have 20 degree edges, then cut or grind the bar down to match the 10 degree difference where each tooth goes. Once everything fits together, weld the heck out of it. Make those teeth become one with the bar.

You might want to try H&L out of Oklahoma. The make lots of small teeth and adapters, primarily for the RTB (Rubber Tire Backhoe) industry.

I too have a Bush Hog loader. I have tried the aftermarket tooth bars and they will not fit because because the cutting edge is too thick. If you come up with anything that will work, please post it here for the rest of us - thanks, Lewis

I think with an angle grinder and an arc welder you could make just about any tooth work.

I'm currently working on a project where the center tooth on my bar needed to be relocated. I used the angle grinder to cut the old welds, repositioned the tooth a couple of inches and put down several passes of bead. You can bridge a pretty good gap with a little patience.
