I just got my new tractor and I have already put receivers on the bucket. One on each side, to put hooks in and also to put a spill guard etc. Here is a picture of how it turned out. First shot.

Here is another shot.

Looks like I need to put some paint on the inside of that one. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I REALLY like that idea. One of my ongoing concerns while using my bucket is having something like a log roll over the top and down the loader arms onto my hood (bad) or into my lap (real bad).

Please post some pictures of what all you put in them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The only thing that I have for the receivers now is the hooks. I will post as I get more things. Roll over the top was also my concern when I made my bucket forks. That is why I have ~24" backstops on them. They have worked well for moving sheet metal, brush and round hay bales.

JerryG,

THat is a pretty neat idea. Had I waited a week I might have copied it. I can see many advantages of doing it that way. Would be neat having plug in hooks, or a backstop to prevent things from falling backwards out of the bucket, and so on. All easily removable to boot!

Very Interesting concept! Great thinking on your part... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Just don't forget to check the roll back, before you make it.

JerryG,

Neat idea! I was looking at doing the same thing but inserting a ball hitch for moving trailers. I have to wonder if that connection would be strong enough to move a 7000lb boat trailer ???

The design of my bucket would, but I know that some member here have bent their buckets on different brands. I always place my hooks in line with the bucket to loader attachment point. It is the strongest area of the bucket.

Sometimes it amazes me that there are still new ideas for things to do to our tractors. That's a great idea you got there. I would like to see a photo of the hooks in place as well as any future additions. Nice job!

At first I thought this was just for a hitch ball. And my thinking was that my bucket is too high for my little trailer. I need receivers on bottom. I've C-clamped a receiver to bucket and it worked pretty good.

Then I realized what you were doing. Versatile attachment for all kinds of things. Hooks, guards, handrails?, tool caddies,... I do think this is probably the best idea to come along in some time. I'd vote for it. It's up there with the ammo box tool box.
