I bumped a tree with my bucket. Long story...don't ask.

The part of the bucket that is damaged is the top edge...directly above the cutting edge. It is dented in about 1/2 inch and the entire dent is about 1`2 inches long.
Can this be fixed? It doesn't hamper the buckets ability to laod or carry, just looks bad.

Chances are it can be straightened some. Some pictures would help us and we may be able to give you some pointers as to what to do to straighten it out.

that must have been some bump to bend the bucket as u describe. is it possible to post some pics? to get a better idea of the bend.

I see you have "insurance claims" as an occupation. Do you assess damage? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kidding, of course.

Will you tell us the 'long story' ? We'd like to know, and may even add to our CUT wisdom so we don't do the same thing. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll bet this will require a large investigation of the cause of the accident! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I sure hope she isn't laughing about this. You may have gotten hurt - or did you? /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I'll need to see pix of the neighbor, maybe a couple of the bucket too. I'll be glad to join the investigative team too.

Sounds like fixing the bucket may be a waste of time. You'll just inadvertently run into another tree! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In some cases heat may be required to staighten out the oppsi. Small dent - just forgett about it.

Excellent cover up (IMO) of the real reason but you have lots of tech support here on TBN.

I'll go along with that.
No point in fixin the bucket until something is done about the neighbors wife.

You have a tractor, not a Mercedes or a Lexus. Buckets get worn and dented. It's no big deal. Even a sledge hammer will not beat out some dents.

So what you need to do is have your neighbor's wife pose in the damaged bucket so we can asses the scale of the problem /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Please make sure the tractor is off when you do this. Would hate to see any more accidental damage /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

So Tom,
What excuse did you give Ms. tld?
I'd go with the standard "a big monster jumped out at me," and I swerved and nicked the tree. It's almost true. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
