This was taken by a friend of ours this season, it is a 21pt and scores in the 160 class Non typical Boone and Crocket. We have measured a 14 pt and a 150 class 10 pt this year. I have only been able to make it out hunting 4 times this year and have seen 4 bucks in the 110-130 class but didn't shoot. Keep hoping for bigger.

While on the Buck topic, does anyone know a source for antler traps that don't cost an arm&leg? Just in case someone does not know what I am talking about - they attach to the tree above feeders to lock the antlers during shedding. The ones I see now are $50~$100. I may try my luck at a homemade job. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Hey Buck,

I ask this question as a non-hunter and comepletely ignorant on the subject. When and why does one use an "antler trap"? Of course I presume the idea is to get a deer "trapped". I would hope this technique is only for capturing "problem" deer who may be doing damage to ones property. BTW, I am not a bleeding heart animal rights person. I just have never hunted and have no interest in it.

Deer shed their antlers every year. The fall off on the ground. A trap hooks the antlers and if they are ready to come off they get hung in the trap. If not the deer is able to pull away with a little struggling. This allows you to easily collect the anlters without hiking for hours and trying to find them on the ground after shedding.
