That is quite a machine. I have seen one used to create wildlife openings in the middle of the woods and to release an old abandoned apple orchard that have become severly over grown. They are even more impressive in real life than on the video. Nothing left but wood chips. We call it a Brontosaurus. Expensive to hire but does a quick good job and you can control the distruction and save desirable trees w/o damage.

That is a denis cimaf DAH Mulcher head. I would love to have one of those. It would be great for removing those trees that you have no place to fell. Here is the link:

Thats a Dennis Cemaf mulch head. One of the company owners used to post here somewhat frequently in the land clearing forum.

Check around for rentals. I have a Kubota SVL90 with a FAE mulching head here locally that I rent from time to time. I'd rather rent when I need one than use my own machine.

Glyphosate aka Roundup will do wonders. Most Co-ops will have a jug of concentrate. Mix it to 5% and spray away.
I would brush hog what you can then use glyphosate on the rest.

How does the 5740 handle the mulcher? Thats got to be about the smallest tractor Ive ever seen running a mulch head.

Something like that was used when the path for the Trans Alaska Pipeline System(TAPS) was cleared. There certainly was not any trees of that size but the affect on the poor little Black Spruce was just about the same. Their "cutter" was mounted on a HUGH tracked Thiokol.

I had local development company back in March clean up my place. It cost 150 per hour with the skid steer attached mulching head and he spent 13 hours and saved me a lot of labor and cleaned the place up. Of course now I've had to spend 11 g for tractor and bush hog to keep it cleaned up. The mulch waste left behind is great for the soil but it will make the briars grow fast.
