First, apoligize for the quality of the pics. Kids and Momma will be home soon so I'm kind of rushing. Doing the dad thing is #1 for me
I built my brush forks a while ago based on other folks projects on this site and looking at the forks at the dealer. I only have a BX1500 and I just need the forks for clearing up brush from tearing up picker bushes with my landscape rake I built (another thread) and clearing small branches from trees I take down.
From my own experience with my forks they do want to move side to side with even the least little bit of force...drives me nuts! So, I fixed it!
From my Jeep building days I have TONS of nuts, bolts, sleeves, etc., etc. (don't ever throw anything away...no matter how much the wife gripes)
So...I took some, what I call sleves, welded them to the teeth on my tooth bar (it never comes off until winter) welded some grade 8 bolts together, welded the bolts to my forks and........
....she forks she no move no more.
BIG DISCLAMER...my stuff is light duty...built for my needs. Just trying to give an idea of how to stop the irritating side to side movement.
I'll be the first to admit I'll never be a pro welder (I fly a desk for a living) but nothing I've built ever has to do with safety (i.e. if the welds break I just grind and re-weld...when I have time) and...actually, nothing I've welded has ever broke...so no welding cracks...no pun intended.
