I love the raw cold, find it so rejuvenating!! What is the coldest it gets up there??

I have a buddy up in Northern Onario who works on the rail road, and he had mentiond that he has seem -50F.....

It gets so cold that the rail road tracks start to contract causing derailments !

Now that is pretty darn cold to me, and much colder than I want to ever see ! JMO !

We do occasionally see -20 to -25 F here, and honestly thats not much fun either !

Northern Ontario will be my eventual home.

I have seen that also, working nights fresh out of highschool pumping gas. Twisted, but I do love it.

Even more twisted, just a heavy parka, and a T-shirt on underneath. I am a polar bear!!

You are correct!! We get the nasty damp cold here, surrounded by water. I would take dry and colder any day..

THIS will sound funny to some, I as well as many others look forward to the cold, and it's rejuvenating properties. Could not live in a warm climate year round.

Currently late Spring here and 32 degrees Celsius every day.

We had a massive heat wave this past summer. It hit 50C one day, and was in the 40'sC range for quite a few more. I do love summer, but when it comes to being most comfortable, give me a cold snap, and I am a happy man. Just wish I had a heated shop to work in.

I remember seeing an episode of Croc Hunter, filmed up on Cape York. Steve was sweating on top of sweat, and it was summer. Anyway, found a cool "Canopy Gana", awesome species. RIP Steve.

All I want for Christmas is for Canada to keep the sub zero temps. Up here in the mountains we'll get below -30 in the nights but only in the dead of winter. The good thing, if you can say such a thing, is that it never snows when it's that cold so I can just keep the wood stove on high and looking out the windows is the closest I'll get.
