I bought a used cheap box blade but is has not scarifers. Was going to buy some but for the life of me I can't figure out which ones or how to attach them. Attached are pics - any ideas?? Someone welded on lynchpins which have some thing to do with the scarifier attachment but I can't seem to wrap my poor ignorant head around it. Thanks for any assistance.

I uses this style scarifer with a square pin dropped in behind it, to hold it forward in the notches.

The spring ring like a lynch pin, holds the special made square pin in place.

As above, notched scarifier and locking pin, not in scale to each other. The linch pin goes through the locking pin hole to hold it in place.

His is a little different. the lynch pin is welded on, only the ring is used. I couldn't find any pictures of the square pin.

I thought the pin was through a loop or eye, but a closer examination shows it to be welded, as you noticed and I didn't. It looks like it would use the spring tension of the ring to hold the scarifier forward.

The spring tension of the ring holds the square pin in place.

I noticed because my first box blade, about 28 years ago had this system.

Thanks for the answers guys. So I am assuming the square pin is a wedge? I am a little dense so a photo of the attachment method would be appreciated. It doesn;t have to exactly the same but I am a very visual person. Thanks!!!
