Broken cylinder fitting

Do you have a hydraulic shop in your area?? I would take the cylinder off and take it over to the hydraulic shop. They should be able to fix you up in a hurry. The shipping cost on a cylinder would not be cheap also the wait time would be longer than taking it to a local hydraulic shop.

I think mattman is on the money here. Time's a wastin as you say. I'm like you about hydraulics and I did a similar thing on an allis chalmers plow once. I took the broken bits to the nice-hydraulic-shop-man and he made it all good again for a low price. It gave me peace of mind in an area I was not comfortable working with. (I don't weld either).

I thought I'd give some feedback here. I checked on a new cylinder and it was way more than I could stand to pay. Around 300.00.
So, I used a buddy that is a professional welder and no stranger to hydraulics. He came and got it, Tig welded it for me and brought it back.
Also, I'll add. I looked all over for the fitting and could not find it locally. Then I thought to ask the welder and he told me where to get it and I got the fitting and he welded it on.
Total cost? About 3.00 and gas. The welder did not charge me because we're buddy's..

Get your buddy a gift card to a good restaurant in the area...it will be money well spent! Glad to hear you are up and running again.
