Broke my new M7060 today called Ktac

So something got in that poorly shielded FEL 3rd function solenoid area and ripped a connector off the solenoid. Dealer will pick and return and I filed KTAC insurance claim, supposedly will have to pay $250 deductible.

So now I going to have build some skid plates for that valve area and the plastic tank. Very poor that Kubota doesn't at least offer skids as option.

Tractors should come with a tree and ground defense package option. Has skid plates, stick proof front grill guard and side shielding protection. Plus tool boxes to carry tractor work type tools.

Unfortunately we have to buy the extra protection from somewhere else. Good opportunities for small businesses but it would be easier to spec them out at purchase instead of us having to chase all over or design a fix.

If they offered all that stuff nobody would buy it until after they ripped stuff up.
And it would be too costly.
And installation would be too costly.
And it would not be heavy/light/high/low enough to be functional and allow proper servicing of the tractor without major disassembly.
So of the minority of tractor owners that find theirselves in need of belly pans, most would not buy them from a manufacturer anyway.
Have some awareness of what you are doing, or buy a skidder or dozer.

Obviously there is no money in it, or you would be able to buy 3rd party. My point is the valve is a weak spot for anybody who drives their tractor through uncut fields. Kubota has a shield there but it is not sufficient, good thing I have KTAC as the valve is ~$500, plus install.

I will be putting more shielding on my fuel tank, valves, not for hitting obstructions, but for vines and sticks.

I wonder if Ktac pays for enough valves if they talk to Kubota

I installed a 3rd function hose skid plate on my L4060 because they looked way too exposed. Paul Short of Specialty Repairs makes them for the 60 series L's. His stuff is not cheap, but it's well made, and designed.

KTAC and the dealer were fast one week and $2400 later it is ready to come home. I have to pay $250.00. That was to replace the third function electric solenoid which got its wiring yank out and new guard around the FEL valve. I'm going to do a thin skid plate to keep branches from tearing up The FEL valves, lines and plastic fuel tank. Will probably cost more than $250.00.
You think KTAC will pay again, I bet they pay for a lot of damage in that area

One thing to realize is tractors are not designed to be logging equipment. Hard for some of us to realize that. If you look at the design and build of machines really built for working totally different and pricing is also. Even then you can find damage by trees to many of those machines.

The way in which the dealer installed my WR Long 3rd function valve - it's well shielded. But NEVER say NEVER - I keep a close eye when out in the Buck brush.

The underside is fragile compared to my old Ford 3000, one small stick got between the top of the shield and tractor and tore the wiring out of the solenoid any overgrown field could do the same thing. When I got the tractor the delivery guy said they replace a lot of plastic tanks from stick puncture. The underside of your average pickup is better protected.
