Glad your back in the seat and getting some run time. Also another great Mahindra Dealer I hope they all give this good service.

Good to see the happy ending. A good dealer is really one of the key factors in buying a tractor and it sure looks like you found a winner.

I bought a 3016 and with only 12 hours, the differential blew out. The dealer came 35 miles to pick it up. Had it repaired and back to me in three days. the only delay was that the national maintenance rep wanted to see it after they took it apart and found the problem.

All this and $0 charge.

+1 to what others have said. stinks to have to deal with a break down only 12 hrs in, but it seems like your dealer stepped up to the plate to make it right.

Here's the report...blown seal on the high pressure side of the hydraulic pump...took about three hours to fix because the tech had to disassemble most of the right side loader assembly to get to the pump/line...I'm officially back in "biz"...

-A+ rating to the dealer (Scott's Tractor of Shreveport)
--A+ to the Tech (Eric)
--A to the warranty Dept manager (not for warranty, however some necessary instructions did not make it as requested)
--A+ for timeliness (Stated arrival time was between 0800 - 0830, Tech arrived at 0805)
A+ for cleanliness and quality of work (Eric was a pleasure to deal with and a fountain of information)

Aside from the frustration of having a broken tractor in the first place the overall experience exceeded my expectations ! I HIGHLY recommend Scott's Tractor of Shreveport as a quality dealer that backs what they sell.

On a side note, Eric recommended I routinly add Algicide to the diesel fuel...he said, particularly in the south, there is a form of algae that can feed off of diesel fuel but reside in thin film of water/condensation that can build up in fuel tanks/lines...told me if I add it I can avoid later problems...he also told me Scott's adds it whenever they "PDI" a tractor...(Pre-Delivery Inspect) just thought y'all would be interested...

You've got a very good dealer and a very good tractor...
Your dealer took care of you like all dealers should...
Service like that develops life time customers...

I have to say I was undecided about Mahindra and not for any reason --I just didn't have a reason to think positive. In the last few days, however, I have heard three good things about dealer and customer backup. That is very impressive.

Glad the dealer came thru and it was a quick fix for the mechanic. I feel bad for the service guys I meet up with. I usually have a thousand questions and a notebook to write the awnsers in. lol

Sounds like a great resolution. The dealer has to eat the service call charge or the hauling, and I think it is that way for all brands. That is part of why a dealer has to make a little profit, since warranty will cover the parts and labor only, but not travel or hauling. I think most dealers just absorb that cost if something happens right away since is meets the "what would I expect if I were the customer" test. Another good reason to buy local. There is no profit in warranty work, the idea is that it should be a neutral thing, not costing the dealer, nor profiting him. Just keep in mind down the road that if you have an issue, it is proper for the dealer to charge for the service call or hauling.

Thanks Dave, I'll keep that in mind, all in all, I'm am really happy with Scott's and have recommended them to two buddies that are in the tractor market...

I was prepared to haul the 'lil red monster to Scott's, and will probably do so in the future...

On a different note, Scott's is having difficulty in locating a set of instructions that detail an install of a second factory remote on a 2012 4035 PST...any advice I can pass along to them ?

Thanks in advance...

Rich, we are having fits with the instructions on the dual remotes for the 35 series and some kits are coming in that are not complete. Don't get me started on this....

The parts and service department at Mahindra are very aware of this problem and are working on it. Rest assured it isn't a failure on the part of your dealer. We have installed a few sets and it has been frustrating. Having said that, MUSA will solve it soon, they always do.

Dave,

Thanks...did not figure it was the dealer...Very happy with Scott's and I'm sure they're doing all they can...was just wondering if there were any "dealer" tips from somebody who'd already traveled this path...

Is that remote gonna be a "booger" to install ? At first glance it appears so, I consider myself a decent shadetree mechanic and will read the instructions from time to time...however there were a BOX FULL of parts ! I'm already considering just taking the whole mess, and tractor, back to Scott's and having them do a "factory" install...

Rich, I'd say yes, it will be a pain to install. Once they get the second remote instructions to make sense and make sure all the correct parts are in the box then a handy customer should be able to do it no problem. As it is right now, I'd recommend you have Scott's do it. That way if they need a part or two or have some other issue, they can be looking at the tractor while they call the parts or service department to get it straightened out.

In fairness to Mahindra, most of their remote kits are simple enough to do and come complete. Not sure where the ball got dropped on these 35 series kits....

Thanks Dave...

Gotta say I'm diggin' my dealer more and more...they (Chuck) said they would get instructions to me, Chuck emailed 'em today...really is a pleasure to deal with somebody that does what they say they're going to !!

A+ to Scott's so far...

Again, Thanks Dave...

I'll say where Mahindra messed up. The 2nd remote SHOULD NOT BE AN OPTION. It should come on the tractor as std equipment and there should be a 3rd optional rear remote along with a factory option of a 3rd function and or a diverter valve setup for the loader. After all, the 35 series is supposed to be a bells and whistles type of machine.

I know that I am hydraulically biased, but that does not change the facts. (ok not really facts, sounds good though)

Just my :2cents: and may not be worth that. ;)

Brian,

I sort of agree. Yet so many people never use remotes and it does drive the cost up. For you, you would want 3 remotes up front and 6 on the back. :cool2:

When a customer actually uses a tractor with top and tilt, it becomes a need, not a want. When I take a tractor home to use for a few months, it will for sure have top/tilt. Yet as a dealer, we are reluctant to add a $1500'ish option on a new sale for fear we will push the price up too much for the average guy.

Education, we need to get ALL perspective tractor buyers educated as to how beneficial hydraulic actuated implements and top and tilt actually are. Not even bring up the cost, just let them know that the hydraulic options exist and can be added at a later time. Once they use the manual adjustments and then either see or have seen the adjustments being made hydraulically, I think that there are many customers that would choose the hydraulic option.

Just my :2cents:

Hope to have some videos in the future showing all the benefits of having the hydraulic options.

Yes, indeed. So many newbies don't know what options they need to best do the tasks
they have in mind. Until later, if someone shows them, or they get to try it.

Often they don't even compare the right tractors brand-to-brand, looking for the
lowest price.

It's a subject for another thread, but how many of your buyers, Dave, do
road mantaince/repair, where TnT is of high value?

BTW, I love how Mahindra makes at least ONE AUX valve standard!
