I have never owned your make and model of tractor, but it definitely seems that with that low number of hours on the machine, the warranty should cover the problem. How long is the warranty? It sounds as if you purchased the tractor new. I realize that you are aggravated and disappointed, and these feelings are most certainly warranted and understood. At you previously mentioned, place a call to the Dealer and explain the situation early Monday morning. Just a thought? If it were me, I would be at the front door of the Dealership Monday morning when the doors first opened. Best wishes.

It happens... case and john deere sometimes have to do "early" warranty work on tractors that cost $130,000 or more.... hopefully your just venting here and would be cooled down by the time you call your dealer.

I was running a 300,000 dollar Volvo rock truck with less than 500 hours on it loaded with 40 ton of heavy wet topsoil up a steep lope when the transmission basically exploded about 7 years ago. They fixed it in 2 days. factory defect. Crap happens man. when crap happens, it doesnt single out brands.

You have a 5 year parts and labor warranty. The longest in the industry.

Hang in there Mahindra warranty service seems to be very good. I forget I had a low number of hours on my new tractor and blew an o-ring fluid all over the place. I called the dealer they came out picked up tractor about 9AM and retured it to me same day about 2PM. Fixed and power washed the whole unit, but not a problem since and just turned 200 hours. Good luck hope your dealer is as good.

Stuff happens, that is why the tractor has a warranty. I had a 76 Dodge powerwagon that was back in the shop three times for a broken part in the trans [ front of the trans where the throwout bearing slid ]. They finally found that there was something wrong with the bell housing, new bell housing, no problem after that. My Mahindra is pushing 100 hours, and not even a drop of oil underneath yet... Gonna be lots of oil underneath in a few weeks when I get around to changing the trans and engine oil though. Good luck with your tractor, probably just something simple, with many years of good times ahead. Stuff happens... :)

Warrenty work is paid for by Mahindra. Theres no reason for dealer to not want to fix your tractor. It's money in his pocket. Won't cost him a dime. Disheartening, but I'm sure your tractor will be just fine. Jim

Don't be surprised if they charge you for the 'drive time' (service charge).

I know, I know, but still....grrrrrrr....I'm mentally gearing up for a bit of a squabble cause I'm thinking the dealer will want to charge for travel which I don't think I should pay for, I mean, really ? 25 miles ? And, I just spent over $20k with him less than a week ago, hopefully he will prove me wrong, gonna give benefit of doubt until proven wrong...

Dealers, would you charge for travel in this instance ?

Thank for sympathy n kind thoughts ! :)

Some dealers will pick up and deliver for free. However, I don't feel they are obligated to do so. The aren't reimbursed by Mahindra for the time and fuel it takes to pick up a tractor.

Ok, called Scott tractor, Shreveport, spoke with Bob, he said don't worry about it we'll send somebody out, said it may be a couple of days....I was pleasantly surprised as I anticipated a squabble over whether they would come out or try to have me take it there, nice fella and so far no problems...will keep y'all posted....hopefully by wed or thu.....

Sounds like you have a good dealer. Let us know what they find.

Glad to see that your dealer is backing you up as well as the product.
I've had similar good experiences with the 2 dealers I've dealt with.

To twist a cliche... sometimes good machines go bad...

What I find interesting though, is how can a product fail if the design specs remain constant.
I was talking with the service rep at the Ford dealer, and he made the comment 'they've been making limited slip differentials for years and years without a problem, and all of a sudden, we're starting to have issues with them'.
You gotta wonder what the motivation is when things get re-engineered.

I know it could be weight reduction, mileage, etc., but as the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. :2cents:

I'll definately keep y'all posted...I've heard nothing but positive about my local dealer, that is one of the reasons I paid a tad more for my tractor...could have saved about $500.00 or so if I had traveled east or south about 60 miles...didn't seem worth it...on a side note he's also gonna bring my 2nd remote kit, yay !!

Never had to get my 2008 Mahindra 5525 hauled into the dealer's shop for repairs. Once I had it sent to the shop to get the skid steer quick attach installed on the FEL arms. My dealer and I split his usual transportation cost 50:50.

Here's the report...blown seal on the high pressure side of the hydraulic pump...took about three hours to fix because the tech had to disassemble most of the right side loader assembly to get to the pump/line...I'm officially back in "biz"...

-A+ rating to the dealer (Scott's Tractor of Shreveport)
--A+ to the Tech (Eric)
--A to the warranty Dept manager (not for warranty, however some necessary instructions did not make it as requested)
--A+ for timeliness (Stated arrival time was between 0800 - 0830, Tech arrived at 0805)
A+ for cleanliness and quality of work (Eric was a pleasure to deal with and a fountain of information)

Aside from the frustration of having a broken tractor in the first place the overall experience exceeded my expectations ! I HIGHLY recommend Scott's Tractor of Shreveport as a quality dealer that backs what they sell.

On a side note, Eric recommended I routinly add Algicide to the diesel fuel...he said, particularly in the south, there is a form of algae that can feed off of diesel fuel but reside in thin film of water/condensation that can build up in fuel tanks/lines...told me if I add it I can avoid later problems...he also told me Scott's adds it whenever they "PDI" a tractor...(Pre-Delivery Inspect) just thought y'all would be interested...
