I managed to break the adjusting 3pt check chain on my 2230 using the box blade. Backing up and hit a small rock. I wasn't going that fast and I wonder if I had the adjustment a bit too tight. It broke the two welds that hold the nut onto the U-shaped metal part.

Anyway, tractor is but 4 months old with 40 hours and the dealer is replacing the part under warranty (I'm happy). But I took the opportunity to order the parts from the 2910 3 pt... the sliding bars that allow quick and easy 3 pt adjustment via pulling two pins. This was decribed elsewere on the site.

I'll post how it goes.

I did the same thing with my bx23. I also bent the lower lift arm slightly. I didn't check on the warrantee issue for it. Wish I would have. The manual states that you should have them tight for a boxblade. I will be interested in your conversion to upgrade you are making. Keep us posted.

I broke one on my B7100. It was too tight with the box blade dropped. You have to adjust them, then drive somwhere where you can drop the box blade down as far as it will go (edge of a ditch) and be sure you still have some slack.

I did the same thing on my BX23 - the weld to the nut broke. It looked like a bad weld to me. I was in the middle of using it so I just pulled out the welder and rewelded it and went back to work. Never did bring it up with the dealer.

I'm not sure if it's the twisting turnbuckle knuckle busters....but it is swap them out for the B2900 gear. The smartest thing I've done since owning my tractor, besides buying the bush hog.

Broke one of them knuckle busters on my B7610 too, only with the backhoe mounted. I had 'em tight like the book says. Pulled the nut weld apart like jim wilson. The dealer replaced it. But, now that I know it can be replaced with something easier to tighten, it's gonna be replaced pronto.
