Are there brazing rods that will flow at 1100-1300 F degrees for joining steel and/or cast iron?

I could swear that I could buy such rods not too many years ago that I used with O/A. I want to do the brazing with pre-heated metal and a propane torch (TS-8000). As far as I can remember, rods like this were branded by Lincoln and Hobart.

I assume they still exist, but searching the internet and the big box stores, I can't seem to find temperature specs on any of the brazing rods. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Knute

Most of the brazing rods like Low Fuming Bronze ( brazing rod ) go liquid at around 1625 same with Phoz-Bronze. Some of the silvers get into the 1400 range but propane is a tough one one on any of these. There are some good silver bearing low temp solders that get down to 480 but only 15K tensile. Good Luck..

Harris good starting point,
Brazing Alloys | The Harris Products Group

Temp range on initial melt is listed for al wires.

Depending what you doin wid CI might be better Phosphor Bronze job.

(removed),

Thanks for posting those two links. I find it very difficult to find things on the the Harris/Lincoln website site. Next week I'll make an order based on the information sheet provided above.

I did get one of my projects done with regular copper bronze rod. A while back I made a "kind of" brazing oven from a single burner propane camp stove and some woodstove fire bricks. I used it for preheating and then finishing it off with MAPP using the TS-8000 torch.

But, I need a lower temperature rod for doing things that don't or can't be used in my preheating oven.l It looks like Lincoln does have a couple of choices.

Thanks,
Knute
