A buddy and I want to buy tractors and I believe we've narrowed it down to Branson or Kioti. I may want more HP(looking at 40ish), but we're both on the fence We're on the fence about what brand to buy. Our local dealer sells both.

Branson
Pros: No computer(regardless of HP)
Linked hydro/throttle
Read remotes
heavier
lifts more
Cummins type engine
Better 3 point hardware
Cons:
Smaller company and with TYM buying Branson we're afraid this will become an orphan tractor.
Bad factory support rep. Branson Tractors | Complaints | Better Business Bureau® Profile

Kioti
Pros: More established company, better support from the factory Kioti Tractor Division | Complaints | Better Business Bureau® Profile
2610 doesnt have a computer

Cons:
More expensive
less features(linked peddle is $300ish add on as is cruise control.)
lifts less(we can get over it)
higher HP have computers
No remotes(we can get over it..I think)
turnbuckle hardware

both companies have the same warranty but we're skeptical if Branson will be there is we run into issues and really nervous the company may not be around for too long. If we knew support was going to be the same it would be a no brainer. What do you think, go with a more established grey market for more money and less features or Risk it and hope Branson sticks around?

Both are good Tractors and should serve you well.

I find Branson very responsive and the regional for the west at least will answer his cell and or follow up to help anyone. One of the good guys.

One problem with some of the less expensive brands are that they attract new tractor owners. They typically do not understand the limitations of this type of equipment and tackle task that are more than these machines are designed to handle. The same thing would happen with any brand of the same size.

I would not put much faith in the complaints I read as they mostly could be operator error.

Can you guys climb over and on each one? Nothing beats a test drive. Except maybe 6 test drives.

Do your tractors have to "match"? Not just brand, but model, hp, size?

What are you going to do with these things? Tasks, attachments, future plans? What size place (acreage) are these working on? Is storage and parking an issue, with either of you?

We can't be much help without much information.

No they don’t have to match but trying to use “we both buying tractors” to try to get a price break on some extras.

basically maintaining 25-60 acres, cutting wood, food plots, brush hogging <10 acres. We both have indoor parking ... plenty of space

My Bobcat dealer only prices CT2025 (same as Kioti CK2610) with rear remotes and the price was still less than Kioti. I initially ordered without the linked pedal, but while waiting for the tractor I decided to have a backhoe added and got them to throw in the linked pedal kit. That was easier to type than it would be to say out loud, don't think I could say I got a free pedal kit without laughing. Point being though, never know what you can get added, particularly if you are buying two tractors.

If you don't mind a bit of wrench work, the linked pedal and rear remote kit with all the preformed tubing are very simple to install and labor is a big part of the quoted price so some savings can be had there. I'm installing the backhoe subframe and that saved $500.

TYM bought Kukje, Branson's parent company, about 5 years ago. Kukje obtained the rights to the Cummins A series engine. Since then Branson has come out with a number of new models and significantly upgraded existing model series. For example the 20 series now has a 4 speed range transmission, manual regen for the DPF, 500 lbs more loader capacity, and they improved the loader joystick and front axle vent. I'm probably missing a couple.

TYM has come out with a number of models using Kukje engines. It appears they bought Kukje in order to get the engine manufacturing capacity they lacked. If they were planning on killing Branson as a brand, they probably would not be updating it. It's impossible to know what they will do in the future but they're acting like they will bee keeping Branson as it's own line.

Most people who have tried to get Branson info through the factory have been disappointed. You need to go through a dealer like you would with Ford or GM. So you want to have a good dealer. Mine's great. They're 3 hours away but they ship me the parts I need, which are primarly filters.
