branson 4720h 6ft brush hog ,post hole digger, ripper, pallet forks,
Well the Branson 4720h got hit hard in a flood first thing I did was drain oil in engine very little water in there.
Then I drained the hyd fluid a lot of water drained that and pulled filters.

Well I was driving it around to help clean up and move things. It痴 slowed then stopped moving.

I pull filters and drained oil again oil was clean the small HST filter was pretty clean the big suction filter was full of silt crap. I pulled the suction plate off side of trans no filter or strainer in there.

Looked at bottom of case seems to be a little silt no water . Going to pull diesel though fill hole to try and flush it?

What痴 the chances it fried the hydrostatic transmission pump?

It should have a screen/strainer.

Here is a screen shot from the parts book:

It's the part 25 on the diagram and you have to take the cap 23 to pull it out.

I would not use anything but hydraulic fluid to flush. The cheap stuff. Might have to clean screens several times but I think you will eventually get it clear. I don't think you hurt the pump.

I pulled part 18 off with the tube and I can see in the case. I can see the gears in the rear but not screen. I will go to the other side and look for a part to take off.

I’m really hoping I didn’t hurt the the pump

Well, that's very odd. Did you bought the tractor new or used? Both parts books for that model (both post and pre 2014), mention the existence of a strainer.

There has been a couple of Branson owners that had trouble priming the pumps after fluid changes, but usually just affected the hydraulic pumps, not the HST transmission.

Yea I brought it new . . It almost sounded like the Hydraulic pump wouldn’t prime or had a restriction but I could only tell when I tried to push on the petals As I wasn’t using the loader at the time
