My new cattle trailer came with a Phillips brand wiring connector lead. This is a 7-way RV style that all the new trucks have. Anyway, I've been using the 6-pin round for years and will be slowly switching over to the 7-way RV (blade) style.

I like the quality of this wiring lead, but can't find a source for them. I've found TAP, Hoppy and Bargman. Anyone know where you can get the Phillips 7-way RV (blade style) trailer leads in 3', 6' and 10'?

If not, anyone know how the quality of the Bargman brand is? I've found a source for them on-line.

Thanks

I sell boat trailers as a side business. We use Hoppy/Tap and have had no problems with them. With any connector the trick is to prevent corrosion. Make good connections and use a good dielectric grease on the plug and you will get years of service.

I always thought Hoppy to be a bit of a cheap brand. I like some of the TAP stuff, but didn't particularly like their plugs.

Phillips makes a lot of semi-trailer connectors and wiring which is typically a step above in quality. I just can't find a supplier for them.

I'm too darn picky...

I've had no poblem with hoppy stuff onmy trailers and trucks.. from brake controllers to adapter plugs and harnes/stubs.. sockets and plugs. I use chassie rease on te plug connectors to fight corrosion.

The Phillips Industries brand of products is distributed by some NAPA stores, Some of the products they sell; truck parts, air brake air line systems, and truck/trailer electrical products overlap existing brands, like BalKamp and Belden, so not all stores carry the line, and most items are drop-shipped in bulk from Phillips so can't be ordered from the local stores distribution center. FleetPride stocks a lot of Phillips products, and has several locations in TX. I have purchased several truck wiring junction boxes from my local FleetPride counter, and the Phillips wiring products look and feel better made than most of the other brands out there. Look up the local FleetPride location amd give them a visit.

EDIT: TruckPro carries some of the same product line as FleetPride, although I am not sure of the Phillips line. There are a few TP locations in TX.

Thanks for the FleetPride recommendation. I'll give them a call. It's nice to know someone else out there has an eye for quality.
