2003 JD 4310
I have a 4310 with 50 hours on it and I keep noticing that when I press the brake pedals hard I hear a loud noise (grinding). Is this normal or should I have it checked? By the way I just did my 50 hour service and the hydraulic fill cap gave me fits. I ended up having to completely destroy it to get it out. I ordered a new cap and put it on yesterday. I noticed that JD has changed the design of this cap (looks more like a control knob now) and it is much improved.

Loving the 4310

That brake noise don't sound normal...

I had fits with my fill cap, but it was the power beyond bracket butted against it. A little gorilla action later and it is much easier...

My fill cap is a black plastic affair. It's not easy to get, but mine did come off no problem. Regarding the brakes - grinding is usually not good. Not being much of a wrench turner I'd recommend calling the dealer. Mine anyway is very responsive to new user questions.

Good Luck!
