I got a 274 (Offset diesel row crop) running last night for the first time in almost a year. Nothing really wrong, some kind of fuel restriction in the valve coming out of the tank. So I drained out all the old diesel, cleaned out the valve, changed the filter and after several almost starts in was running good. However I stepped on the brakes and the left side stayed engaged. The brakes are hydraulic and the pedal now goes down with no resistance. Is there some kind of parking brake that is set or do I have something stuck in the brake circuit?

I think that model has wet brakes and uses tractors hyd oil for brake fluid. Might be brake was actuated too much while tractor set up. There's a reservoir for master cyls that is continuously filled when tractor runs, but if brake was actuated enough while set up, it could go dry. The master cyl could be dry and rusted up. There's a good IH site at YTmag, com where you'll find someone who has or knows your specific tractor.
