I thought I'd a share an old project of mine as a brain teaser. So what is it? Hint, It could not have been made until the middle of 2001, then there was a need for 210,000 of them.

Very interesting Mark. Is it pictured in the "as used" position?

Maybe its a parking stand for the Segway human transporter.

It looks as though it could go in the back of a vehicle. With the notch at the bottom it would clear the hump that goes down the middle of the floor and on the back side there is another notch. Possibly for a stowed position. Anymore hints?

Do we get 20 questions that you can answer with a yes or no?

I think Tractors4u hit on it. It looks like it goes into the back of a Chevy Avalanche pick-up truck. Not sure when they first came out /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Maybe one of them Fords?

Tractors4u is the winner...

The vehicle is the PT Cruiser. I have an original 2001 and when you pull the seats out, the load floor is nice and flat except for the foot wells. So I filled the void with the wood thingy and cover the whole thing with a piece of carpet. Picture attached of the piece installed.

OK, so now where do I pick up my prize?

How do you like your Cruiser? The wife and I looked at them in Dec 2002 when we bought our grand Caravan. We really liked them but with 2 tricycle motors and all the stuff we haul in conjunction with them, the Caravan was more practical. Besides I like playing with the remote control sliding doors and rear hatch. I like the retro look of the Cruiser though.

I did a similar thing when I had my Chevette. It gave me a flat area that was over 5 feet long! I put cheap carpet over it and that's where the dog sat when she went for a ride.

Doing this also gives you a nice hidden storage well underneath the wood, where you can store small things on the floor, but out of plain view.

Hmmm, I must have run right post your answer so I kept guessing. My conclusion is that it was a double kneeler for a confessional for you and a buddy to confess sins. I was thinking that if you both went in together you could try to absolve yourself together as kinda of a moral support arraingement. Obviously I was wrong, but you might see if the device could be marketed that way as well.

I thought it was one of the tackling dummies used by the Cincinnati Bengals for the last several years.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Ah, I see. You confused me with the year. I was thinking that is what it looked like, but since it wasn't need until 2001, and the Cruiser went on sale March of 2000 and have sold quite a bit more than 210,000. I didn't think that could possibly be the use for it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
