Both are high quality mfg.

I'd by the Bush-Hog from the dealer. He may give you a deal, since you bought the tractor from him, and it'll help to establish a long-term relationship.

Check prices / features.

IMHO the "Big 3" for quality box blades are Woods, LandPride, and Bush Hog. All three offer captured lower links. When I priced out these 3 I was surprised that the Woods was the "cheapist" which was not saying much . Jay :)

they gave me a price of $760 for a 4ft and $860 for a 5ft

If you are quoting the Woods GB series those prices appear to be pretty much what I paid , the cost of steel has gone up significantly since I purchased mine so those appear to be pretty good prices. BTW what do you have to pull the boxblades? Jay :)

Keep looking, buy this on price, A BX doesn't need a real HD boxblade IMO. I paid about $350 for my off brand 5' a couple years back.

I agree.
It doesn't have to be construction site quality for a small tractor.
Loretta got a new Kodiak boxblade for her 284 Jinma tractor to help me with the dirt work. We looked at several models and decided to get the Kodiak 5-1/2 footer from Agri-Supply with fixed front and rear blades. With her wheels set at maximum width, it sticks out about 3" per side. It weighs 480lbs so it's a medium weight box, but the construction is very good. It only cost $395 bucks. The only thing I did to it was to add a couple 1/2" thick plates to capture the lift pins. She has Pat's EZ change so there's no problem hooking up.

I paid 550 for my bush hog in June here in upstate NY weighs roughly 500 lbs only (4ft) but is built really heavy duty for its size which would be a perfect fit for your BX. I have the next biggest model b series and its good for mine (a bit small but all they had in stock and it matched the tractor which was a plus for me) and for a good price I thought.

That's a real good match of width and weight for that size tractor.

The same weight on a 5' wide would not perform as well and would be much harder to pull.

The sister company of KK makes equipment called taylor way or taylor pittsburg, I can't remember. I do have one of their BB and I have beat the snot out of it. It has full plates and not the 1" straps to the toplink. Just for your info. I wouldn't rule them out for a BB. I bought my 6' one at auction brand new for 450.:) Oh yeah, and it came with that real purty reflective tape on it for when I am driving down the road.
