Hi,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me decide on a box blade, the problem is I have the specs, I just don't know if my tractor can support it - I will be in the process of building about a 1mile dirt road..

I am going to get a Kubota L5240, 4WD HST, and I was thinking about getting the Land Pride BB1572 at 504lbs, or the BB2566 at 500lbs....however, I just came across someone who would sell me a Bush Hog, MBX-960 at 790lbs, for only $650, its used but looks really good...

My problem is the difference in weight is almost 300 lbs, and could the L5240 really handled it....I;m not really good at reading specs, but from the Kubota site, it says, PTO 540rpm, and under Hydraulic, it reads Lift capacity at 24in behind lift point - 2976lbs...Does this mean the PTO lift capacity could easily handle the Bush Hog MBX-960, or does that refer to the front loader?

Thanks

oh, and someone mentioned that I should look at a Bush Hog - Roll over box blade...any idea what a roll over blade is?

thanks again

a six foot box would be good a seven foot ok and 8 footer I think would be to much for road building. you would have a hard time pulling a full box.

There is no such thing as "PTO lift Capacity" What this is saying is the 3 POINT HITCH HYDRALIC LIFT ARMS can lift 2976 lbs. So yes this machine can lift a 790 lb box scraper

PTO is Power Take Off---it's a spindle at the back of the tractor that works off the tractor's transmission and can power implements such as a Rotary Mower (AKA Bush Hog), Finish mower, Post hole Auger etc. PTO has nothing to do with the lift arms or a box scraper.
