Atleast I will have plenty of nice deep ruts in my driveway to smooth out, from all the tire spinning my tractor will do trying to pull it. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Welll I have yet to decide on a box blade, I am waiting to receive some prices from my NH dealer. But I did go back to him today and I bought that used landscape rake I mentioned in an earlier post. After reading through the archives on the prices you guys were finding for new rakes, I felt the this one a Landpride RB1572 for $400.00 seemed like a pretty good deal. although it does show some use, it looks to be in very good condition (photo attached) So I now have my first 3PH attachment. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif I also learned that after about 30 minutes of use, that mastering it is going to take some time and patience /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif. I also think that a set of guage wheels will help immensely and are a must, atleast for me. They will be my next purchase.

I also came up with this little ingenious idea for making the rake a little heavier. I have a client / homeowner who has in his garage, has a Ga Gillion of these lead weights. (photo attached) They were from when he used to cast his own bullets. Anyway, I was thinking that these would be great for use in a weight box, he said Help Yourself !! So I did and will again.
As I was unloading the rake from my truck, It appeared that the square tube that connects the rake to the 3PH assembly was just about the right size for these weights.
Sure enough, perfect fit. Each ingot weighs (bathroom scale)approx. 5 lbs. they happen to be in strips of 5 ingots and the square tube took two strips of 5 perfectly. So I have increased the weight of my rake by about 50 lbs.
Landpride says that this rake weighs 275 lbs. now it weighs 325 lbs. that makes it a little better as a temporary counter weight.

I have that same frame, only with the 6' blade under it. You should be able to get a blade attachment for the frame much cheaper than a whole new implement. The nut at the top should just come loose and let the rake fall out the bottom. With 2 people the swap should be pretty quick. Just a thought.
I am looking at a BB from the Leinbach line, made by United mfg. It is comparable to the 25 series from LP, except about $200 less, $400 for a 5' box. A few people on the board have them and are pleased.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking today that I had read on TBN where you could swap rake for a blade using the same hitch assembly. I am still shopping for a box blade, let us know how you make out with yours and what you think of it's quality verse's price.
I brought home another 500 lbs of those lead ingots today, so now I have a total 1200 lbs of them. I just ordered from my JD dealer, a JD ballast box for around $179 to put them in. I think I will start with around 800 lbs in the box, I can always add more. He is also bringing me down, from their parent store, a set of gauge wheels for the rake for $240
(danged things aren't cheap).
Anyway !! He said they will try to cut me a better deal on the ballast box for buying both attachments. I should be able to pick up both of them tomorrow or Thursday. I will post pictures when I have them.
My array of toys is growing, Tractor, backhoe, snow plow, landscape rake, ballast box (almost). Photo attached.

I am jealous of the hoe, and one item pictured, but not mentioned. Your trailer. I drove (via truck) to my buddies house where I am going to help him with his driveway in May. It is 7 miles. I'd really rather trailer, but alas, no trailer. That is a bit of a drive at 15 miles/hr. Oh well.
