Box Scraper Box Blade Braking on Ice

Even if the driveway surface is gravel once things get really frozen up a light/medium box blade even with the scarifiers down will tend to skip along on the surface if there is a good base of ice. Jay

Gravel. But it gets real icy. The steepest part is about 3H:1V

Go for CHAINS ....

VBar would be my suggestion. I went that route, made a world of difference. Dropping your box blade will just make a bunch of noise...

I agree about the VBar. I actually put a set on my rider for winter use- what a difference in "traction" ;). The scarifiers might leave scratch marks and lead to where one slid off to . Jay
