Mahindra 3016 Shuttle
I purchased a new Mahindra 3016 shuttle $14,275 out the door, including tax, a full tank of fuel and delivery (same day after hours). I love it so far...picked up a post hole auger and rear blade today.

My wife bought a horse so I have to clear some of my property for pasture. Then build Run in shed. Fence a few acres on each side of my drive. Then build a small 3 stall barn. Need to get the horse here so I can stop paying boarding fees before she gets her next horse.

Martian, I'm from your neck of the woods. I joined the Navy through the Pontiac recruiting station. I graduated from Holly High School, we used to hang out at an arcade up on Dort Highway back in the day...

Jenkins, I'll post what I'm up to, but I might be biting off more than I can chew. I'm in the foothills of the Ozarks and our soil is full of what I guess is decomposed granite.

That can make it tough alright:( I live in the foothills in the southwest mountains of New Mexico and have found that one side of my property has less than a foot of topsoil while 300 ft away it is six feet deep. How you deal with it can make a big difference, be careful that you don't bring lots of rocks to the surface as that can make a real mess.

If you have any decomposed anything, it beats the rocks I have at the extreme southern end of the Ozarks. We have every thing from pebble sized to ones like in my Avatar and larger. Some areas will be rock free and 3 feet away will be nothing but rocks. Sure makes it hard to put in fence post with a digger. We have had better luck with steel T post that are easy to move a bit if we hit a rock and then hope for the best at the corners where we have to put in large wooden post with the PHD. The best post holder soil just happens to be the one where it is full of the typically long cylindrical rocks with a little bit of clay. Once the hole is dug and backfilled, the post doesnt move.

Not long ago there was a post here where someone built an attachment to fit their FEL that looked like it worked well for pressing in post using a length of pipe as a guide that was bolted to the side of the FEL. It would be perfect for putting in steel T post to prevent bending if rocks are encountered. Perhaps someone with a better memory than me can recall which forum it was under. Might have been welding.

Congrats Master Chief...That new tractor feeling is impossible to replicate except by buying still another new tractor. Good luck with the
rocks and keeping the wife held back...

Nice looking tractor.

Mine bought two, apparently having only one would leave it bored and lonely, something in the math didn't add up because I only got one tractor.

Started the same projects myself 12 years ago, do you have any woodland on your property, I milled out the lumber for our buildings, am fortunate to have a friend with a portable mill so I saved a little money and the Mrs and I had a lot of fun together.

Welcome to TBN Master Chief, and thank you for your service to our country. Nice looking new Mahindra, and nice looking place. We have our share of rocks too down here in Branson. The wife and I and our little Kubota moved some of the larger ones yesterday:). Good luck with you new "workhorse"
