Tire tread pattern also effects vehicle noise. The 4 snow tires are noiser than the 4 all season tires on our Toyota Seinna van. Jon

Supposedly, demand was down to the point where they weren't profitable. Even the foreign automakers have seen sedan sales drop off, at least in North America. Personally, I have no interest in one, but one would think that there would still be a sizeable demand for them. Agree with you that most vehicles sold as SUVs are really just station wagons, it's just not cool to call them that anymore.

Don't know what it is, but it seems the newer models try to look cool with less sq window footage, and seems to be a lot more blind spots IMO.

From what I've been told that's because of all the airbags manufacturers are required to put in modern vehicles. I miss vehicles you can actually see out of too.

My Focus was a company car. It rode like a truck and as noisier than a bus.

Focus is the biggest POS with one of the worst transmission's out there. If I'm buying a car it's going to be a Mazda, Toyota, or Honda.

Honestly, I thought it was due to gas mileage. The more "boxier" the vehicle, the more air drag, which would reduce the gas mileage by .5 gallons LOL

The one vehicle I really miss is the old Isuzu Trooper. Thing was the biggest "box" you could find, but that thing was like a hotel sleeping in it. For whatever reason, heard nothing but horror stories with the newer troopers made in the 90's and forward.
