Greetings all
A member on another forum suggested I join here and post the pictures below, He said you all might enjoy them.

To start
I have 13 walnut trees on my property and have been attempting to find a better way to pick up the stupid things for several years, Having some spare time, a welder and a buddy that works at a golf course, brought on this current idea, This actually worked, and if nothing else is quite funny to see. It has been dubbed the "Nutgrabber"
My wife snapped these pics the other day on it`s maiden voyage and after looking at them..it seemed rather funny. It sure has gotten the attention of some passers by :D

Enjoy.

Rick

Are you a fan of Red Green? The folks at Oppossum Lodge would be proud.

Now all you need is an old fashioned hand crank corn sheller to take the husks off the walnuts. We had one of those trees in our yard as a kid. They are quite nice to look at but the nuts can be a real pain in the fall. They will stain the driveway very badly. Although, one method of removing the husks is to spread them out on a driveway and then drive over them with a car. It takes a while but the husks will come off and then you have some good tasting nutmeat to eat if you have the patience to crack the shell and dig it out. Nice job on the "nutgrabber"!
