BOOMER 50 Frustration with the owner's manual.

I am getting my tractor ready for winter and I changed the front differential gear oil. The owner's manual says the capacity of the diff is 8.1 liters. So I buy a 10-liter jug of full synthetic Shell 75W140 gear oil for close to $220 and when I drain and refill only 5.5 liters go in. I measured what came out and it's 5.5 liters! There are only 3 drain plugs: one on each final drive and one on the bottom of the diff housing so I didn't miss one. Now I am stuck with some very expensive oil I don't need.

How could they print such erroneous information in the owner's manual?

I don't know, and that's frustrating for sure, but don't most NHs use hydro oil in the gear cases? Oops, I guess not. Just checked my workmaster 40 owners manual. Mine calls for hyploid 90. The old TC26DA called for the hydro oil.

I know but it still rubs me because I will have to buy another jug to finish the job since I will be short....I know I know....first world problem.
