Has anyone tried the Boom Mower?
Has anyone tried the Boom Mower?
With the cost I am thinking a walk behind Gravely with dual wheels would be a better option.
I will let the 1 to 1 slopes just grow. I need to work 3 to 1 slopes with some next to water. I don稚 want to take the PT on it because some places are a little soft. I am also looking as adapting a sickle mower to the PT. But that can wait for now.Well I'm in Pa. too I would really like to watch you on a 1 to 1 slope with the Gravely, after it rolled over a couple of times or starved for oil in the engine..... a boom mower has its place.... jim

For the cost, the Steiner/Haban Sickle just wasn't long enough. When trying to cut banks and ditches, you want to stay in the safe zone. Having that tiny reach just isn't worth the bother and expense.
ventac's boom mower is just too expensive and it looks like a PITA to put on. jim
It IS very expensive. However, it is not difficult to attach. It is the only Ventrac attachment (that I know of) which comes with jacks. This allows one to keep it perfect height for connecting.
While expensive, it is amazing at cutting very difficult areas.

Over 20,000.00 I could buy a used cut for that and get a 7' mower for less..... jim
They told me $14,000.
