Bolt on Bucket Hook and Receiver mount for JD2520

Hi All,

Check out my Bucket Hook mount with receiver that I came up with for my 200CX loader on a JD 2520. I'm hoping this makes the simple jobs easy now to pick up / move with the loader...

I have added a 3/16" backer plate inside of the bucket, bolts are 1/2 diameter grade 8.

This is the first picture that I have posted on TBN... I did not know we had a limit. Can you tell me what file size or picture size is prefered?

By the way I just looked at your pictures and I had the exact same idea for a bucket insert to help clean out a part of my pond... Nice pictures!

How thick was your bucket sheet metal? Was it hard to drill in that many holes?

Once I welded a hitch receiver on my FEL bucket, I never used the 3 pt. hitch to ever move a trailer. I'm sure you'll find your setup very useful. Great job!

Drilling the 12 holes was easy as I used the backer plate (which had 1/2" holes in it) to locate the hitch on the top of the bucket loader. Then I clamped the plate to the loader and used a transfer punch to ocate the hole centers on the bucket. I drilled a pilot hole with a sharp drill and left the backer plate on all the way up to the 1/2" holes goling into the bucket to be sure that everything was alined.

That worked well as I could drop a 1/2" bolt into all holes and none were sloppy.

There is no limit that I'm aware on TBN. However, some folks with slow connections have trouble downloading the bigger pictures. That being said, many times a big picture is the way to go because you can zoom in and see details on a bigger picture. Play around with image resizer as it is easy to use and see what you think..
BTW, the red message is part of my tagline, but I am not a moderator and have no authority on TBN. In other words, you can just tell me to go jump in the lake and make the pictures any how you see fit.

Thanks guys, I'm eager to build a pole boom as well. In fact I was just looking at other posts to get some ideas. I think the mount will be a nice addition to the 2520.

Oh, regarding the question about the drilling the bucket material that was easy. I did not measure the material but I would estimate it at 10 guage (around .100) by eye. The key is sharp drill bit.
